Commercial Evictions

Running a business is a risky endeavor even in the best of times. However, few experiences are as gut wrenching as finding an eviction notice in the mail: In the face of a Commercial Eviction, the fate of your enterprise may hang in the balance. Not only is your life’s work threatened with a costly relocation, but the time, expense, and stress of fighting for your rights can take a toll on your ability to run your business.

You do not stand alone against this potential existential threat. A Business Attorney from Jurado & Associates will be by your side to fight for your rights and represent your best interests.

Understanding a Commercial Eviction

Most commercial evictions begin with some form of notice, usually via mail. This will notify you that an eviction action has or will be filed against you in court and should state the basis for the eviction. Analyzing the notice is the first key step in determining the next course of action.

For example, if you are being notified of an impending eviction action, our attorneys will explore the possibility of contacting the landlord and negotiating some sort of agreement. Conversely, if an eviction has already been filed, we will move quickly to file a response in court.

Crucially, if the eviction notice does not conform to requirements under your lease agreement or Florida law, that will open further strategies to defend against the eviction.

Analyzing the Lease Agreement

In most cases, that requires leasing a space from a landlord. This arrangement should be set forth in a lease agreement, which among matters, should have a provision concerning the eviction process. Your landlord must abide by the protocols of the lease agreement as well as by Florida law.

A meticulous review of the lease agreement will help determine if eviction process is valid and/or rule out potential arguments and legal strategies for your defense. Fortunately, Jurado & Associates has ample experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease agreements and will know what to look for.

Diligent Defense – In and Out of Court

Whether you have just been served the eviction notice or are in the process of being evicted, our attorneys will come armed with legal knowledge, experience, and passion to help protect you and your business. We have worked with countless businesses of all sizes facing evictions at varying levels of complexity.

If possible, we will negotiate on your behalf to prevent the eviction from moving forward, seeking solutions that will protect your rights and business interests to the fullest extent possible. We know how to strike a crucial balance between zealous representation and savvy negotiation to help find a mutually agreeable solution that does not compromise your rights.

If we must take the fight to court, we will do so with the same utmost commitment to your best interests. Our business attorneys have years of experience navigating the procedures and protocols of the judicial system. We will muster all the facts and laws we can to give your business a fighting chance.
